Lab Measurement
Services

In TEC’s Materials Testing Laboratory, special instrumentation is dedicated to improving your products through process and quality control. Our x-ray diffraction lab measurement services meet or exceed the requirements of ANSI 43.2 for open-beam operation. Our A2LA accreditation governs the quality of our laboratory services.

By managing residual stresses during the manufacturing process, you and your customers can reduce failures caused by phenomenon such as fatigue and stress corrosion cracking. Our specialized team and instrumentation are dedicated to improving your products through process and quality control.

Our team has developed superior algorithms for measuring the amount of retained austenite in the lab. We calculate retained austenite by measuring two distinct austenite and two distinct martensite peaks (different Miller Indices), to correct for carbide interference. The four-peak method also provides information about factors such as large grain size and preferred orientation, which are not available with the two-peak method.
